THINGS TO DO AND PLACES TO GO

There are many nice places to go to on the island. What I like most about Paros is its diversity. Every village, every beach, every area, is very different; has it's own atmosphere and visitors. Here is a list of things you can do.

BOAT TRIP WITH ROFOS BOAT

Relax on a beautiful replica of an old fishingboat from Captain Ilias. He will bring you to the most beautiful places around Aliki, where you can enjoy swimming and snorkeling in turquoise water. They will offer the snorkling masks, drinks, fruits and a Greek salad.

It is always depending on the weather if the boat can go out.

HIKING IN THE NATURE AND THE MOUNTAINS

Paros is a special place for hiking. Our friend Christoff will take you for a hike along the coast or in the mountains. There are more easy hikes, but also longer and more intense hikes that you can choose from. Good walking shoes is a must, and don't forget to bring drinking water.

You can ask us to make a reservation.

Price starting from 35 € for the coast hike of 1,5 hour up to 60 € for the 4 hours hike in the mountains, including private transportation to get there and back.

skorpios museum

Benetos Skiadas, was a traditional artist from the Greek island, Paros.

He has depicted Cycladic history with large miniatures of ships and important buildings with unrivaled art and workmanship. Located just a few hundred meters outside Aliki. Definately worth a visit, great fun for children, young and old.

BUTTERFLY VALLEY

Butterfly valley is located four kilometers to the north of Aliki. It is a biotope with a small source, which is covered by dense vegetation; cypresses, plane-trees, oleanders, carob trees and orchards. This area is ideal for the Tiger moth butterfly. The butterflies gather at this specific area in June and they "disappear" in August. This happens because in September the female butterflies search for bushy areas to lay their eggs and then, they die. The caterpillars come out of the eggs in October and they turn into butterflies in May. In June, the butterflies come again at the valley and they stay fixed and almost still on the trees till August, when they mate.

Kite surfing at pounta

Here people from all over the world get together for kitesurfing. 50 weeks a year with wind. Also the worldchampionships kitesurfing take place on this beach.

If you know kitesurfing already, probably you have heard of this place and you should definitely go. If you don't know how to do kitesurfing, you can learn it here.

Or just go to watch. It is spectacular. and after take the boat from Punta (10 minutes) for an evening in Anti Paros.

clay beach molos

If you want to have a nice soft baby skin again, go to Molos beach, put clay all over you, wait for the clay to dry, and then dive into the sea. Your skin will feel unbelievable soft...but it is better to wear an old bathing suit.....;-)

Not easy to find, you need to rent a car or bike. And watch out for the current of the sea about 15 minutes after the big Blue Star boat is passing by.......

Parikia

Parikia is the capital of Paros and 12 km away from Aliki.

It's an experience never to forget, to stroll through the old backstreets of Parikia. Don't forget the church of the 100 doors, the  'Ekatontapiliani'.

Also nice to go for shopping; opening hours are 10:00 - 14:00 and 18:00 - 21:00, in high season shops stay open even longer, until about 23:00.

There is a bus from Aliki - Parikia, it takes about half an hour, price around 2 € . In high season busses go until about 23:30 but not very often. In low season the last buss is not so late. A taxi will cost about 20 - 25 €. A private van for max 8 people Aliki - Parikia is 50 €. One way.

windsurfing golden beach

Sun Wind is a total water sports centre offering Windsurfing, Stand Up Paddle, Kayak, Tubes and other activities. All levels welcome. Have fun!  Relax and enjoy. Golden Beach: True to its name, Golden Beach is a beautiful, long stretch of golden sands. One of Paros’ longest beaches, it is an ideal windsurf site due to the famous “Meltemi” wind, blowing from the north 80% of the time in the summer.

NAOUSSA

The old port at the other side of the island, where most of the night life is happening. A lot of bars and restaurants. Prices in general are higher then in Parikia. There is a small port inside, don't miss it...... and an old pirates fort. You can eat nice fish there, just caught by the local fisherman.

To get there you have to take a bus to Parikia, and then another bus to Naoussa..... A taxi will be 40 € one way, about the same price of renting a car. A private van will be about 60 € one way, up to 8 people.

private boat tour

All day (10:00 - 17:00)  private boat tour with Michael Zeppos to Despotiko island opposite of Anti Paros. Discover the (almost exclusive) open air museum of Despotiko island and visit the temple of Apollo.

Including lunch, drinks and snorkels.

Private sunset tour (17:30 - 20:30) is also possible.

Prices on request.

LEFKES

A different village, with different people, in the middle of the island, in the mountains. Quiet, no cars/bikes in the old centre. Nice village to walk around and combine it with lunch/dinner at Flora's restaurant.

To get here by bus is more complicated. Best is to rent a car.

Or to go with our guide Stephanie and combine it with a not to long hike, about 1,5 hour.

the caves of anti paros

The caves are one of the most impressing caves you will ever see in your life. They are one of the deepest caves in Europe about 150 meters deep. Don't forget to bring a long sleeved shirt or sweater with you, it is chilly down there.

To go there  you can take the bus, from Aliki to Punta, then take the boat to Anti Paros and then another bus from where the boat arrives to the caves. Busses go regular, but not often.

You can also go with a car and take it on the small ferry (10 minutes from Paros to Anti Paros) and then go left to the caves.

evening anti paros

Its also nice to go for an evening to the main village of Anti-Paros. Nice bars, restaurants and a shopping street were no cars are allowed. In half an hour you can walk to the other side of the island / village where you can enjoy the sunset with a nice drink.

Shops are open mornings and evenings, high season also until late in the evening, but they are closed between 14:00 and 18:00.

The boat back to Paros goes until midnight, sometimes even later, depending on the time of the year.

ONE DAY TO NAXOS BY FERRY

Paros has the advantage of being geographically located in the center of the Cyclades. Starting from here the visitor can visit many of the neighboring islands in a short time.

Naxos is the largest island of Cyclades and it is located in the center of this complex, between Paros and Mykonos. According to mythology, this was the nuptial isle of the god Dionysus, god of wine. This is why there is a sanctuary dedicated to Dionysus in the inland of Naxos island. Ideal for families and romantic couples, Naxos Greece is famous for the exotic beaches.
